Visiting NYC Part 3 - The Bronx Zoo

You have decided to take a trip to New York and want to go sightseeing, but you don't know where to go. Visit the Bronx Zoo.  With the economy the way it is, many families are not planning vacations. Instead they are doing stay-cations. This would be a great place to do that. It has a little something for each member of your family. You will create memories that will last for ever.

The Bronx Zoo is open  Mon-Fri from 10am to 5pm and on the weekends and holidays from 10am to 5:30pm.  The prices for tickets are $16.00 for adults, children (age 3-12 are $12.00) and seniors (65+) are $14.00. Note children under 2 years old are FREE.  They also have a total experience ticket that cost a little more but you have admission to the zoo and unlimited access to special rides and attractions for the day of your visit. There is parking at the Bronx Zoo for $13.

On Wednesday there is no charge for admission. The Zoo asks for donations as every little helps to supports the work of caring for the animals.

Don't know what to see when you go to the Bronx Zoo? They have so many different activities going on on any given day. The Zoo has an Animal Activity Trail, Bee-Eaters Buffet, Bug Carousel, Camel Rides, Penguin Feedings and Sea Lion Feedings.

The zoo has a Butterfly Garden, which I can't wait to visit. At the children's zoo, kids can climb into a birds nest and see different habitat for the animals. My favorite is the Dora & Diego’s 4-D Adventure in there theater.  They have 3-D effects and also 4-D which include wind, mist and other special effects making your adventure awesome.  This is a must do when I visit the zoo as my kids are big time Dora and Diego fans.

Coming this weekend you can enjoy a visit from Buddy the T-Rex from the "Dinosaur Train" and Sid the Science Kid on PBS kids. For more information visit HERE.

Buy your tickets online and save 10% HERE.  Follow the Bronx Zoo on FacebookTwitter and Youtube for special events and more. Your children and you will be entertained from the moment you step into the zoo till the time you leave. What are you waiting for go visit them today.
