#Review Maclaren Globetrotter Stroller

When you find out your are pregnant you want the best for your baby. You ask friends and family what products are good. When I was pregnant with my son, I choose a travel combination stroller.  My problem was that after my son got bigger it was too heavy. I discovered Maclaren through a friend who had used it for her son when he was a toddler. We had to make a run to the store and I borrowed her stroller. That's when I feel in love with this brand. It was so light. I didn't know a stroller could feel that light.

Retail value $160.00

With my second child, I got the chance to review the Maclaren Globetrotter Stroller in Scarlet (Red).  Extremely easy to open and close and not heavy. It is super lightweight and has a harness so you can carry it over your shoulder. This comes in handy since I live in NYC and take the subway and bus everyday. I simply close the stroller and put it over my shoulder and hold my daughter, Ashley, with my other hand.

 Maclaren Globetrotter Stroller features:

  • Breathable Mesh Seat appropriate for children 6 months and older

  • 5 Point Harness with height adjustable shoulder straps for added safety

  • Handy mesh shopping basket

  • High-performance aluminum frame

  • 5 second one-hand compact umbrella fold

  • Raincover Included

  • Water resistant hood

  • Carry strap for easy portability

  • Square, extra large hood for maximum coverage
Maclaren Globetrotter stroller weighs 10.6 lbs. It reclines to 2 positions and has a simple step brake system in the back. This stroller is recommended for babies 6 months of age and older weighing up to 55 lbs. It has a breathable mesh seat making it cooler in the summer months. It comes with a raincover to fit this stroller. The stroller comes fully assembled inside the box.  I also put her diaper bag over the back of the handle bars.

As you can see from the photo above, my daughter is strapped in and has the raincover on. I love it because it keeps her warm when  its windy out and covers her all the way passed her feet. This is included when you purchase Maclaren strollers as other brands do not include it. Note that when you put bags on the handle bars the stroller will tip back without the child sitting in it as it is lightweight. The handle bars on this stroller are high as my husband is tall.

Things I didn't like

  • Recline button on the back was extremely hard to loosen and didn't really go back enough or sit up too much.
  • Straps after adjusting them to my daughter did not hold her in as she would take her arms out.
  • Wheels are small and would get stuck on the sidewalk and intersections that were uneven and had potholes.
  • Canopy not see through.
  • Rain-cover did not cover the canopy completely

Things I like

  • Lightweight
  • Raincover included
  • Easy to open and close
  • One step braking system
  • Stroller strap to carry
  • Canopy is bigger and extends further
  • Handles bars are high so I don't have to bend as I'm tall

Overall, I would use the Maclaren Globetrotter stroller again and again. The features on this  stroller are not found with other brands. It is truly a lightweight stroller and the perfect handle height.  The Globetroller stroller retails for $160.00 and comes in colors crown blue, festival fuchsia, scarlet, prince blue and black.
