Have you heard about Brio?

Well, you have come to the right place. Brio is a Swedish toy brand that creates innovative, high-quality wooden toys. BRIO gives children a safe and fun play experience. The company was founded in 1884 and is represented in over 30 countries. We received the Brio's RC Travel Train and Countryside Horse Set to review.

BRIO RC Travel Train

My daughter loves riding on trains and living in New York City we travel on lots of them. She is fascinated with how fast they move and how the doors open and close. Ashley loved the remote control travel train.  The remote is big for her hands and easy to grasp.  It has big buttons for small fingers.

The train set is white and red with real flashing lights and sounds.  The train attaches to the other train by magnets.  The magnets attract each other and stick together. It comes with a little small person. She fits in the attached train. The remote control has easy to use reverse and stop functions, as well as two different forward speeds, plus A&B frequencies to allow for multiple RC trains on the same tracks. Press the buttons for light and sound effects. You will need 4 “AA” batteries that are not included. One set is for the remote and the other for the train. Good for kids ages 3+ and retails for $39.99.

Brio Countryside Horse Playset

Brio’s Countryside Horse Set comes with everything featured in the photo.  It comes with a barn that attaches to the several tracks. There is a little person with a horse.  The horse has a blue jacket that you can remove and place the little person on it.  It comes with 4 white fences and trees.  The tracker and transport wagon are green and black in color.  The tracker and transport wagon also have magnets that are attracted to each other.  The horse can be placed in the back of the wagon for transport and it has easy access via the foldout ramp.  The tracker starts by pushing it down and it will go forward.  You can make it stop by pressing once again down on it.

The fun for both my kids started when they built the Countryside Set.  They both enjoyed building the track and breaking it apart.  (You can also use the RC Travel Train on the track.) This set is for children 3+.  It requires 1 “AA” battery for the Tracker and retails for $64.99.

You can purchase these toys online at BRIO and keep up to date with them on Facebook and YouTube for new products.

  1. I live in Denmark, but hadn't heard of Brio, which is odd since it comes from our Northern neighbors! Of course, I don't have kids, so I don't know anything about toys, but this looks adorable and like something my nephew would like. I'll keep Brio in mind for his birthday next month.

  7. What an awesome set! I love wooden toys. I think that there is just something so special about them. Both of my kids have wooden train sets and a set of wooden blocks!
