Back to School Guide featuring Master Locks

It's August! You know what that means back to school season has started. Parents are buying clothing, school supplies and for some, dropping them off at college. Security is important to me and I have teamed up with Master Lock for this back to school guide.

Master Lock has created the Bluetooth Padlock 4400D for indoor use. What makes this Master Lock different? It is the Bluetooth with smartphone capabilities. With traditional locks, you need a key. Also with a combination lock, you need to remember the number sequence.

With this padlock, you use your smartphone to open the lock.  Even better, you can give another person, a guess, access so they can also open it for you. This access can be short or permanent.  It comes in handy if you lose your phone. All you need to do is call that person and they can open the lock for you.

All you need to do is download the app to your smartphone via apple or google play. Once downloaded you follow the directions to set it up.  The app is easy to use.  Above are photos of the app in a un/locked, guest add-on and warning mode. The app will warn you if someone is trying to open it.

Below are some of the products features and product details. You can go to the website for more information about your type of phone. The video below showcases the ease of changing the battery.

The Bluetooth Padlock Model 4400D is for indoor use and retails for $70. The outdoor version Model 4401DHL retails for $89. Whether you have your phone or not, you’re in control. With your smartphone, you touch any button on the lock and open it. Don’t have a phone available? Enter the directional code on your lock keypad.

My husband uses this lock for work.  It's very convenient as he doesn't need to know a combination number. Especially good, because he does not need to carry a key with him as he has misplaced them before. But this will not happen again thanks to this Bluetooth Padlock.

Know someone heading to college? Gift them the Master Lock 5900D SafeSpace® Portable Mini Safe.

I received the white model No. 5900DWHT which retails for $28.69.  This is medium size portable mini SafeSpace™. The inside of the case is encased in a black foam.  It is water resistant. It has a wire that wraps around the base when not in use. The combination lock has a rubber flap that covers it.

When you are assigned to a dorm, you don't know who your roommate will be. Or if someone could break into your dorm room?  This portable mini SafeSpace™ is great. You place your valuables or important stuff inside and lock it with the connecting wire.  You can then place it in your closet out of sight. Another great place you can store it is the back of your bed rail. You know the part that no one can see because it's pushed up to the wall. The wire is skinny and can pass from one end to the other and no one would know it there except for you. Out of sight out of mind.

Imagine heading to the gym for your workout. You have to put your things down but you will not need to rent a locker because you have your SafeSpace™. Are you heading to a waterpark?  You can bring this along and connect it to the place where you are sitting.  It will be within your sight, and no one will be able to open it.

I will be planning a trip to an indoor waterpark and will be bringing this along with me.  I can store my husband's cell and mine.  As well as, his small wallet pictured above.  Below are some of the products features and product details.

We have, at one time or another, used Master Lock at school and at public pool lockers. With Master Lock, you can expect nothing but the best.  As your belonging are safe and secure with Master Lock.

  16. The bluetooth padlock is impressive. Of course, I hope it has a combination back up. My luck my child would run their smartphone down and wouldn't be able to get into their locker.

  19. I like that the Master Lock Bluetooth Padlock doesn't need a key to unlock it since I have a tendency to misplace them. I'll have to pick up a couple for my storage room.
