Book Review: The Next Person You Meet In Heaven

Author: Mitch Albom
Book/Series: The Five People You Meet In Heaven
Genre: Fiction

This is the sequel to “The Five People You Meet In Heaven.” We meet again with an adult Annie, the little girl, that was injured at Ruby Pier Amusement Park.  We see how Annie has grown up and the turmoil the accident has had on her life.  She cannot remember the day of the accident. Annie marries Pablo and on her wedding night, she dies.  She encounters five people in heaven just as Eddie did in the first book. One of the people Annie meets in heaven is Eddie, the park mechanic, that saved her life.   Each person she meets in heaven will teach her a lesson.  In the book we see heaven.  The view for each character is different.

Both stories hold a spiritual element.  They talk about heaven and forgiveness. You are faced with hardships and how you confront the injuries, bad decisions, and struggles while alive.  Each person Annie meets teaches her a valuable lesson that we too can learn from.  When Annie touches Eddie’s hand you are transported to his life. You see Eddie as a baby, how his dad treated his family, up to the moment he died. You feel his sorrow at finding out he killed someone during the war that he didn’t know he did. You view that person’s side of the story. You get to see and feel what they felt.  The decisions they made and how it played out.  A delightful story that will pull your heartstrings and keep you on the edge of your seat to the very end. What a surprise ending it is, but you need to read the book to find out how it ends.

Tuesday Quote of the Week ~ Strong

Tuesday's Quote of the week:

"The devil whispered in my ear, "you're not strong enough to withstand the storm"
Today I whispered in the devils ear I am the storm"

You are stronger than you think. Stop listening to what others say about you. Believe you can, set the goal and go after it. People will move out of your way.

Tuesday's Quote of the Week - Yourself

Tuesday's Quote of the week:

"Your greatest power is believing in yourself"

Seek the power you have inside you.  Do not look for it outside as it has always been inside of you.  Seek and you will find.
