From time to time I get asked what my favorites places to visit in NYC. I have many that I decided to blog about them in a weekly posting. I am going to start off with a couple of places here and then in my weekly posting I will go into further details. I am partial to Queens since I grew up here. There are so many things to do in Queens. In what ever borough you are in you have to travel to Queens to go to the airports. We have two LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport.
There is baseball at Citifield with NY Mets and the Arthur Ashe Stadium (where the U.S. Open, tennis, is played). The stadiums are both right on the 7 train line.
We have the Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Inside there you will see the Queens Zoo, Queens Botanical Garden, Queens Museum of Art and The New York Hall of Science. As well as Fantasy Forest a small amusement park for little kids.
The best parts about Queens are the restaurants. There are so many ethnicity within Queens. On the 7 train you can find Indian, Colombian, Asian, Peruvian, Mexican, Italian, and the list goes on and on. In upcoming post I will blog about restaurants, baseball, shopping and other things.

I used to live in central Jersey, by the shore (not the "Jersey Shore" of tv fame). I loved visiting NYC. My step-mother lived on Broadway for a while and I loved visiting and walking to local stores, finding hole-in-the-wall restaurants, and discovering great off-off-broadway plays.
