Christmas Crispy Wreath Treats

1.    1. In a pan place 1/4 butter to melt and then add marshmallows.
2.   Mix rice crispy together and once evenly coated remove from pan.
3.  Place wax paper on a cookie/pizza sheet and pour the crispy treats on it and spread evenly.
4.  Let it cool down and then take your small round bowl and cut out a circle in the middle.
5. Next, turn the sheet round and round pressing and molding it into a circle.
6. Once you have it round, it time to decorate it. Using the icing make a line from one end to the other. Remember to leave a space in the middle for the bow.  Keep placing the lines in red, white and green.
7. Next, you can add sprinkles or silver/multi pearls to the treat.

Centipede Mini Arcade Game

7 Tips For A Stress Free Family Vacation at Kalahari Waterpark Resort & Convention Center Poconos + Free Packing List Printable

Disclosure:  I have not been compensated for this post and all opinions are 100% our own.

Have your kids come up to you after watching a commercial and asked to go to an indoor waterpark?  If your kids are like mine, they have asked you many times.

Recently. we took a family trip to Kalahari Resorts & Convention in the Poconos for Thanksgiving.  Yup, we decided this year that we wanted to have family time with our kids.  A waterpark was a place that both my kids kept asking to visit and everything fell into place.

We searched online in August and got a deal through the Kalahari website.  We, also, booked our reservation for Thanksgiving dinner early, so we knew we didn't have to worry about what to eat.  Remember the Poconos area is slightly remote and you will not be able to find a close Dunkin Donuts or McDonald's
restaurants.  We made sure our room had a microwave and a refrigerator.

We arrived 30 minutes early and were able to go to our room and drop off our luggage.  We changed quickly and headed to the waterpark.  Kalahari offers different activities that you can check out online.

These are our tips for a stress-free family vacation:

Tip #1 ~ Plan ahead to purchase your tickets early to get the best bang and discount for your money.

Wave Pool
Vtech Cam

Tip #2 ~ Consider staying at their Hotel: by staying on property, you can get a perk of extended park hours and more.  When you stay at Kalahari you can get to use the waterpark at 1pm before your 4pm check-in time. A bonus in my book.

Tip #3 ~ Check the resort's website for the events during your stay. You can plan ahead and see what activities they are offering and make reservations, so your spot is held.

Tip #4 ~ Are you celebrating a birthday? If so call the reservation office and give them your reservation number and a note will be added to your booking for that special event.

Tip #5 ~ Is your child special need?  Call and ask what activities they have for children on the spectrum or other disabilities.  They will be able to tell you if they have finger painting, a pottery class or other games and entertainment.  This way you can prepare ahead and know what your child can do and cannot do.

Tip #6 ~ Check the food options available.  This is key when you have children that are picky eaters like mine are.  Find out what restaurants are at the resort and what type of food they offer.  The fees are high if you eat at the resort's restaurant.  We went to the Great Karoo Marketplace Buffet restaurant as my kids are picky and they have a little something for everyone.  Especially, the sweet food area.  It was a big hit with them both. The buffet opens daily at 8am.  We are morning people and got to eat between 8:15-30ish a.m.  By the time we left, the line was long to get inside.

Tip #7 ~ Bring a cooler with you and put any items you like, and you can heat it up in your room. Just note that the mini fridge does not hold a lot of stuff but you get free ice that you can put into your cooler.  We brought with us snacks and other foods that could be heated up quickly i.e  a can of ravioli, and spaghetti etc...  I brought chips and snacks with us as the prices in the vending machine cost $2.00 for chips and $3.25 for a drink.  Way to expensive in my book.

Really do your homework before you head out as you do not want to spend extra money that is not necessary. We did the Thanksgiving Buffet Dinner which was $121 for a family of 4.  It was nice as it was held at the convention area of the resort and had 4 giant flat panels and/or projector TV that was showing the football game.  An enjoyable night had by all.

I have created a free packing list printable.  You can print it and check off all the items on your list and add anything else to it.

Have you visited a Kalahari Waterpark Resort or an indoor waterpark?
